I said "goodbye" to my native Seattle, WA after college to live, study, and teach overseas for 7 years. I have spent most of my time in South Korea, Mexico, Croatia, and Hungary. My favorite book (of all times) is Dracula by Bram Stoker. Actually, I like this book so much that I took my first teaching job in the Transylvanian region of Hungary. And, yes, the region is as cool as Stoker made it sound in his book.
I have a B.A. in English from Washington State University and a M.A. in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. My parents, who honeymooned in Mexico over 45 years ago, retired there a few years ago and live happily on Lago de Chapala with their two dogs and cat. My sister, Vanessa, lives in Salt Lake City and works for a start-up ski/snowboard company. I moved to Texas from Mexico in July 2013, where I taught college level ESL. This is my second year at SPHS.
I am excited to be here at Stony Point High School. Go Tigers!
